I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am a Mormon.
I believe that we are all spiritual children of a loving Heavenly Father who sent us to this earth to learn and grow in a mortal state. As Mormons, we are followers of Jesus Christ. We live our lives to serve Him and teach of His eternal plan for each of us. Our Heavenly Father has restored the ancient Gospel of Jesus Christ through latter-day prophets. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. His life and teachings are the way to peace and happiness. God has given commandments through His Latter-day prophets to help us all live a happy life. The central purpose of the Church and as Christians is to help all people come unto Christ. We believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and that using it is the only way we can return back to our Heavenly Father. We know that he died for our sins and would want us to take full advantage of that sacrifice He made for us. We bear witness to the power it has had in our lives, as we make mistakes daily. We know that when we are baptized, our sins are washed clean. The Book of Mormon is a small book of scriptures that is the keystone of our faith and a record of God’s dealings with prophets and His children in ancient America. It is another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon was translated by the first latter-day prophet Joseph Smith. As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
Our faith influences nearly every aspect of our member's lives. Beyond simply believing in Jesus Christ, we try to bring His teachings to life at home, at work and in our communities. Here are a few of the cultural priorities embraced by members of the Church around the world. Strengthening Families, Service to Others, Missionary Work, Lifelong Learning, Freedom to Choose, Humanitarian Aid, Good Citizenship and Family History.
